Die V-Label Awards durchlaufen drei Bewertungsphasen, in denen Expert:innen, Jury und Konsument:innen zusammenkommen. Die Produkte, die die ProVeg-Expert:innen überzeugen, schaffen es von der Bewerbung auf die Shortlist und haben dann die Chance, beim Jury-Tasting und Public Voting zu gewinnen.
The shortlisted entries in all listed categories are evaluated by our jury of industry professionals. All products that make it to the shortlist are nominated for our tasting.

Who can apply to the Awards?
The awards are open to companies with vegan food and non-food products available in Germany. This means that the products must be purchasable by customers in Germany in supermarkets or online. Please note that the product must be licensed with the V-Label to apply.
We want to apply for the V-Label Awards but our product(s) don’t have a V-Label yet. What can we do?
Apply for an express check and receive a reduced licence fee. For further information, please contact our customer service directly.
How can our brand benefit from applying to the Awards?
The prizes include special winner and finalist labels that you, in case of winning , can display on the packaging of the respective products, as well as various promotion opportunities to showcase your successes online and offline. All finalists are displayed for public voting on the awards website and winners are subsequently promoted on numerous social media channels. Public voting helps you to increase consumer engagement, raise brand awareness and reach your target group.
Welche Information werden im Bewerbungsprozess abgefragt?
Für eine Bewerbung benötigen Sie folgende Informationen sowie Dateien:
- Land der Lizenzierung, Lizenzierungsnummer des Produkts
- Produktname sowie eine Produktbeschreibung (max. 50 Wörter)
- UVP
- Produktbilder: Packshots (Freisteller mit weißem Hintergrund, mind. 1) sowie Moodbilder (Produkt im Gebrauch oder passendem Ambiente, mind. 1)
- Herstellungsland, Verfügbarkeit in Deutschland sowie anderen Ländern
- Liste der Zutaten
- Bild der Nährwerttabelle
- Information, ob das Produkt über den Nutri-Score verfügt
- Information über die Herkunft der Hauptzutat des Produkts
- Information über das Verhältnis von Verpackungsgröße zu Produkt
- Optional: weitere Zertifizierungen
- Vorschläge für Servierempfehlungen, falls Ihr Produkt es ins Tasting schafft

When is the application deadline?
The application phase runs from July 1 to September 13, 2024. The 30% Early Bird discount is available until July 31, 2024.
What is the participation fee?
The participation fee is €350 per registered product, with a special price of €100 for startups. With the 30% Early Bird discount, participating only costs €275 (€75 for startups) per product until July 31, 2024.
If you are a start-up (company started before 2019), please contact us at awards@v-label.de to verify your status and receive a voucher for the reduced pricing.
How can we pay?
You can pay on account by bank transfer. You will receive an automatically generated invoice, which you can then pay. Only fully completed applications, including payment by the end of the application period, can be considered. Please bear in mind that international bank transfers take several working days.
Can we apply with a product range?
No, you can only apply with individual products. However, you can submit several products in the same or different categories to increase your chances of winning and show the diversity of your products.
What are the Special Awards and how do they work?
In addition to the main categories, there are two Special Awards:
- Retailer-Award: Aimed exclusively at retailers who submit their own brand products. Retailer applications automatically qualify for the Own Brand Award if they submit at least three of their products in more than one category.
- Food-Start-up-Award: Aimed at start-ups founded in 2019 or later. All products submitted in a food category are automatically considered for the Food-Start-up-Award.
The ProVeg experts, the jury and the public vote on these products and a total score is calculated. The Retailer brand and the Start-up with the highest average score win the awards.
How are the winners selected?
The selection of the winners for the V-Label Awards Germany 2024 takes place in five phases:
- Application Phase (July 1st - September 13th): Companies submit products across six categories.
- Expert-Voting (September 16th - October 7th): Our ProVeg Experts evaluate the products based on the criteria: Health, Innovation, Marketing, Market Potential, and Sustainability. Eight products are shortlisted for each category. (For the food-categories, the shortlist reserves 5 for manufacturer brands and 3 slots for retailer’s private brands.)
- Tasting (October 21st-25th): The Tasting event is held in Berlin. Jury members conduct a blind tasting and score the products. The jury vote accounts for 50% of the final score.
- Public Voting (November 1st - November 30th): Shortlisted products are presented for public voting. Public votes count for 50% of the final score.
- Winner Announcement & Communication (December 9th): Winners are announced at an online event. Companies are encouraged to share the event to attract viewers. Trophies and labels are sent to the winners.
When are Winners announced?
The winners will be announced online on December 9, 2024. They will receive an online and printed certificate. The winning labels can be placed on the winning and finalist products.
